Job summary

Konecranes is expanding its Service Intelligence capability with a Business Analyst role based in Hyvinkää, Finland. You will own the full chain from business concept to mathematical model and SQL production logic, collaborating across business, data, and technology teams.

The role emphasizes building scalable data solutions, designing rules for recommendations, and applying AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining scrutiny over AI outputs. Hybrid work is possible.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering business-critical data solutions, analytics, or decision support.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous business needs into working, scalable solutions.
• Strong SQL skills and the ability to translate mathematical and business concepts into production-grade logic.
• Experience building business rules, scoring models, or decision logic — not just analysing data.
• Ability to rapidly prototype and validate ideas before scaling.
• Practical, hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate development and analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to significantly increase productivity through AI-assisted development and analysis tools.
• Validates AI output critically, and knows when simpler logic is the better answer.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs and domain knowledge into clear logical concepts for our Service Intelligence Layer
• Design, create, and validate the conceptual models and rules behind our recommendation engines, scoring models, prioritization logic, anomaly detection, and decision-support capabilities
• Write and optimize the SQL logic that brings those models to life in our data platform
• Create reusable data products, and connect data, logic, and workflows into capabilities that drive real business actions across multiple processes and use cases
• Own your logic from first concept through continuous improvement — prototyping, testing, documenting, and iterating as real-world data and business feedback reveal new edge cases
• Work directly with business, service, and data stakeholders to understand decision-making needs and operational realities — making sure logic reflects how the business operates
• Improve data quality, semantic definitions, and business understanding of data
• Use AI tools deliberately and critically as part of your workflow — as an accelerator for coding, exploration, testing, validation, documentation, and user interaction — never as a substitute for your own judgment
