Job summary

ABB Oy, Smart Power in Vaasa is seeking a Customer Support & Transportation Specialist to coordinate global export shipments and ensure compliant documentation in collaboration with factory functions and customers.

You will drive process improvements and own Intrastat reporting while engaging with customers, forwarders, customs authorities, and internal teams to ensure on-time deliveries and optimized logistics performance.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a relevant field (e.g., international business).
• Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken.
• Previous experience in export logistics/transportation is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate global export shipments with required export documentation.
• Select and coordinate cost-effective transportation solutions.
• Manage export invoicing and ensure compliant documentation.
• Collaborate with customers, freight forwarders, customs, and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve delivery issues and improve logistics efficiency.
• Own Intrastat reporting and act as local SME.
• Monitor transport data and KPIs to identify trends and root causes.
• Drive continuous improvement of export and logistics processes.

This position reports to:

Customer Support Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

We are now looking for a Customer Support & Transportation Specialist at ABB Oy, Smart Power in Vaasa. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating global export shipments with needed export documentation included in collaboration with other factory functions and customers. Timely actions and accuracy are the core of this position, and you will also drive process improvements to support efficient supply chain operations.

• Coordinating export shipments and ensuring on-time deliveries to customers worldwide
• Selecting and coordinating cost-effective transportation solutions based on customer requirements, delivery schedules, and business needs
• Managing export invoicing and ensuring compliant and accurate export documentation
• Collaborating closely with customers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal stakeholders
• Resolving export-related delivery issues and contributing to the efficient logistics flow of the supply chain
• Owning Intrastat reporting and acting as the local subject matter expert
• Monitoring and analyzing transportation data and KPIs, identifying trends and root causes, and initiating improvement actions to enhance logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction
• Driving continuous improvement of export and logistics processes to enhance operational efficiency and service performance

Qualifications For The Role

• B. Sc. or M.Sc. level degree from a relevant field, for example international business
• Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken
• Previous work experience from a similar transportation and/or logistic related role in export operations is crucial
• A collaborative and proactive approach, with a demonstrated ability to take ownership of operational issue resolution
• Experience of Incoterms and the impact of their differences on transportation and related responsibilities
• Previous experience with FISAP and transactions related to sales and distribution is seen as beneficial
