Mehiläinen seeks a Controller, M&A Integrations in Helsinki to drive the financial side of acquisitions and integrations. You will perform due diligence, value allocations, and assist in reporting, working closely with the Director of Treasury and M&A Integrations and a broader international team.
The role requires accounting expertise, strong Excel skills, and comfort with evolving AI and automation tools within a fast-growing healthcare group.
Founded in 1909, Mehiläinen is a rapidly growing healthcare company that strongly invests in the possibilities of digitalisation and innovation. We are on a journey towards an ambitious goal: to be the leading healthcare company in Europe by 2030. Our growth story has already taken us to seven countries, driven by modern technology and the experts who make us a frontrunner in the industry. We are looking for a Controller, M&A Integrations to join our Treasury and Integrations team, based in Helsinki, Kamppi. Our Treasury and Integrations team is responsible for the integration of acquired companies and businesses as well as the entire group's financing, cash management, payment operations and financial risk management. Mehiläinen completes several dozen acquisitions every year in Finland and abroad, along with a large number of related corporate restructurings – mergers, liquidations, incorporations, intra‑group business transfers and divestments. Acquisitions and their successful integration are a key part of value creation at Mehiläinen, and in this position you will have a concrete impact on the future of the entire group. In this role you will drive the financial side of M&A integrations hands‑on – from due diligence, purchase price adjustments and opening balance sheets through to integrating the acquired company into the group's financial reporting. You will also contribute to the group's net working capital and net debt reporting.
You work closely with the Director of Treasury and M&A Integrations and the wider Treasury and Integrations team.
In this role, you will:
The emphasis of your tasks may vary depending on M&A activity and the profile of the person recruited.
In this Controller role you combine solid accounting, financial reporting and acquisition accounting skills with strong coordination and stakeholder‑management capabilities, and the ability to keep many threads moving at the same time. A few years of work experience in finance or accounting – for example in an audit firm in transaction services or audit, or in Controller roles – and a relevant higher education degree (e.g., M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration or Industrial Engineering and Management). Familiarity with financial systems, attention to detail with numbers and excellent Excel skills. Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards, in particular IFRS 3 (Business Combinations), is considered an advantage. Genuine interest in and ability to apply AI and new technologies in your work – you actively look for ways to automate and improve how things are done. Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, initiative and flexibility, along with a strong drive to grow and to be part of building the leading healthcare company in Europe. Fluent Finnish and English, as you will work daily with both domestic and international stakeholders; Swedish is considered an advantage. The ability to work in a constantly changing international environment across multiple tasks at the same time, with a development‑oriented approach – while not shying away from routine tasks either. Experience in an international or multicultural environment, and in developing processes or systems is considered an advantage.
We are all committed to acting in line with our values, and we believe the best results come from giving our experts freedom, responsibility, community and opportunities to grow. This Controller role gives you a front‑row seat to the group's M&A activity and a concrete opportunity to develop your expertise across transactions, integrations, financial reporting and treasury in an international setting, working with modern technologies and AI‑enabled ways of working, alongside a professional, committed and supportive team.
