Job summary

Verto People, Ltd. is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support hyperscale data centre delivery across Europe. This is a senior site-based role requiring commercial leadership, strong governance and cost control.

You will own the commercial function on the project, manage budgets and variations, negotiate contracts, and report monthly on commercial performance while coordinating with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial management or a similar senior role.
• Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience managing large-scale projects, variations, claims and cost control.
• Strong forecasting, reporting and risk management skills.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously on a site-based, rotational project.

Commercial Manager
10/4 Rotation in Europe

We're looking for an experience Commercial Manager to support the delivery of hyperscale data centres across Europe.

This is a senior site-based opportunity for a commercially strong professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced project environment, working closely with project management, clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of the commercial function on the project, ensuring strong cost control, contract management and commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading all commercial and contractual activities on the project
• Managing project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and cost reporting
• Monitoring project performance and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
• Managing variations, change orders, claims and contract negotiations
• Overseeing subcontractor and supplier commercial management
• Reviewing contracts and ensuring contractual obligations are understood and maintained
• Supporting the Project Manager and senior leadership with commercial decision-making
• Preparing accurate monthly commercial reports and forecasts
• Managing final accounts and supporting successful project close-out
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key project stakeholders

Requirements

To be considered, you will need:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial management, quantity surveying or a similar senior commercial role
• A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong contract and commercial management experience on large-scale projects
• Demonstrable experience managing variations, claims, subcontractors and project cost control
• Strong understanding of project forecasting, reporting and commercial risk
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and make commercially sound decisions in a site-based environment
• Previous experience working on major industrial, engineering or construction projects would be highly advantageous

Rotation

The position operates on a 10/4 rotation - 10 days working followed by 4 days off, making it an excellent opportunity for someone comfortable working within a rotational project environment.
