Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation in Vaasa, Finland, seeks a Chief Project Engineer for Electrical and Automation to lead delivery of a contractual technical solution in customer projects. The preferred location is Vaasa, with Helsinki negotiable, and hybrid work options are available.

You will supervise ordered services, purchasing, quality, and budgets, coordinating with Project Managers and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in electrical and/or automation engineering.
• Project management experience, preferably in energy business and power plant projects.
• Technical understanding of engine power plants and their solutions, value on medium/high voltage and BESS systems.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Skills, knowledge and will of managing contracts.
• Personal drive to develop skills, tools and ways of working – both for yourself and others.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships.
• Willingness to take responsibility over own work and role and for occasional travelling.

Responsibilities

• Participate in customer/stakeholder negotiations and maintaining good customer/stakeholder relationships.
• Understand the contract and adapt its requirements to the project solution.
• Plan and manage works under own responsibility area according to contract requirements with total costs, schedule and customer needs in focus.
• Manage project activities in your responsibility area such as engineering, procurement, manpower, logistics, and site activities with external vendors and internal teams.
• Follow-up and report quality, use of resources, costs, schedule and scope.
• Identify, mitigate, monitor and report risks in your area.
• Act as a substitute to Project Manager when needed.
• Provide sales support when needed.

We are looking for a Chief Project Engineer for Electrical and Automation discipline with a main responsibility in leading the delivery of the contractual technical solution in customer delivery projects . The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland but also Helsinki is negotiable. We offer the possibility of hybrid work with certain terms.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Chief Project Engineer your work will include supervision of ordered services, purchasing, quality, contract/requirement overall compliance, customer satisfaction, schedules and budget of your responsibility area . Within close cooperation with Project Manager and other project stakeholders. Th e tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of spirited Energy Services Upgrades Project team with diverse expertise .

Y your work will focus on these responsibilities :

• Participate in customer/stakeholder negotiations andmaintaingood customer/stakeholder relationships

• Plan and manage works (e.g. purchase, approve and release of designs) under own responsibility area, according to contract requirements with the total costs,scheduleand customer needs in focus, from the project initiation to the closing.
• Manage project activities in your responsibility according to contract/requirements, such as engineering, procurement,manpower,logistics, and site activities, together with external vendors and internal team members
• Follow-up and report quality, use of resources, costs,scheduleand scope of the responsibility area

T o be able to succeed in the position , we expect you to have:

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. inelectrical and/or automationengineering
