Job summary

Valmet is seeking a process-focused engineer to advance circular economy through plastics pyrolysis technology in our Raisio, Finland team. You will help develop, pilot, commission, and support commercial deployment of pyrolysis solutions, collaborating with R&D, engineering, service and customers.

The role requires a degree in chemical/ process/ mechanical engineering, experience with plastics pyrolysis or related industries, and fluent English, with willingness to travel internationally.

As part of our growing pyrolysis team, you will contribute to technology development, pilot plant operations, commissioning activities, and customer support. Your Responsibilities

• Support the development and commercialization of Valmet's plastics pyrolysis technology.
• Participate in testing, commissioning, startup, and operation of pilot and demonstration plants.
• Analyze process performance and troubleshoot technical and operational issues.
• Work closely with R&D, engineering, service, and customer teams to improve plant performance and reliability.
• Provide technical support for customer projects, site visits, and service assignments.
• Contribute to the development of lifecycle services for pyrolysis plants.

Expectations for you

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in plastics pyrolysis, chemical recycling, refining, petrochemicals, renewable fuels, or similar process industries.
• Solid understanding of industrial process equipment, process operations, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read process and engineering documentation such as P&IDs and flow diagrams.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally.
