Job summary

Normet is seeking a Chief Engineer, Concrete Spraying to lead process technology development in our R&D team in Iisalmi, Tampere or Espoo, Finland. You will drive concrete spraying process and technology development, SmartSpray robotics, NorSmart control systems, and VR simulator support to boost productivity, quality and safety.

Ideal candidates have five+ years of leading engineering experience, strong analytical thinking, and a holistic approach to optimizing sprayed concrete processes;

Chief Engineer, Concrete Spraying

We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Chief Engineer, Concrete Spraying with visionary mind-set to join our ambitious R&D team in Iisalmi, Tampere or Espoo, Finland. You will be leading process technology development activities that will improve productivity, competitiveness and quality of the concrete spraying process.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

• Concrete spraying process development
• Concrete spraying technology development
• SmartSpray (automated robotic concrete spraying solution)
• NorSmart (machine control system & software)
• SmartScan (environmental sensing and measuring system)
• Automatic process monitoring
• VR Simulator development (support)

You will be a key member of Normet R&D organization and will work closely with Normet's concrete spraying development group and vice president of product line, together with Normet's automation, mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and control systems engineering teams.

To shine in this position, we hope you to have:

• At least five years of working experience as a leading engineer in a relevant field (e.g., mobile machinery or automation)
• Analytical thinking to develop new technologies in concrete spraying
• Taking a holistic approach to optimizing the sprayed concrete process
• Experience in automation and control systems is considered an advantage
• At least five years of working experience with 3D-design - preferably Autodesk Inventor system - ability for 3D-concept designing
• Desire to take ownership in your area and ambition to develop and grow in the field
• Experience of modern mobile hydraulic systems/system design is considered as an advantage
• Experience in 3D scanning / mapping technology is considered as an advantage
• Project management skills and ability to handle pressure
• Good communication skills in English, Finnish language is an asset
• Master of Science (Tech.) or Bachelor of Engineering in relevant field
