Job summary

Ramboll in Finland is seeking a Chief Consultant for compressor stations to drive design, cost estimation, and technical leadership across international green gas projects. You will mentor teams and collaborate with project managers to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes aligned with Ramboll's sustainability goals.

The role emphasizes deep expertise in compressor stations, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and fluency in English, with opportunities to influence global energy transition

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master, or PhD in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Process)
• Cross discipline knowledge including advisory and layout
• Minimum 6 years of experience with design and execution of compressor stations
• Significant theoretical and practical knowledge of compression
• Considerable knowledge of compressor station components and layout
• Experience working in multidisciplinary projects
• Strong oral and written skills in English

Join our Solutions for Industry global service line as our new Chief Consultant for compressor stations for PtX gas infrastructure and transmission of green gases and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.

Your new role

As our new Chief Consultant for compressor stations, you will support growing client demand for studies and design of compressor stations for transmission, storage, and distribution systems. Your role will be within natural gas compression and transmission. Further, you will cover the growing demand for compressor stations for green gases, e.g., H2, CO2, O2 and biogas related to our clients’ sustainable transition.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Developing and maintaining our knowledge of overall compressor station design
• Supporting clients within high-level cost and time estimates
• Technical lead on medium to large projects as a key player in international green gas project teams
• Working closely with the assigned Project Manager ensuring that quality and deadlines are met
• Interacting with clients and stakeholders on technical solutions and layout advice to ensure the best solution for the clients
• Becoming focal point and mentor for compressor station design to ensure optimal and effective execution and quality

You can be based in any of Ramboll's offices in Finland.

The discipline is highly experienced and delivers engineering and consultancy services on a global scale within the energy sector. The local energy business in Finland comprises 30 experts from different energy disciplines. Your position would be in the newly founded and growing Solutions for Industry team as one of the first specialists.

Transition to green energy is the organisation’s primary focus area. Our services cover layout, design and execution of large onshore pipeline systems. We cover all aspects of a project including concept and feasibility studies, detailed engineering, EPC, and follow-up engineering.
