Job summary

Evotym, a European fintech, seeks a Chief Compliance Officer to lead the compliance strategy and team, reporting to the Finland CEO and Board. This role drives regulatory alignment, supports new product development, and ensures adherence to FIN-FSA expectations across EU operations.

You will engage with regulators and executives, embedding a proactive compliance culture, driving risk-based governance, and ensuring robust controls in collaboration with Product, Operations and Tech.

Qualifications

• Fluent Finnish and English; Swedish is a plus.
• Typically 10–15 years of compliance experience in regulated financial institutions.
• Hands-on AML/CTF experience in FIN-FSA or comparable EU-regulated institution.
• Strong knowledge of Finnish and EU financial-services regulation, with payments/e-money experience.
• Direct experience with regulators, and proven senior stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the compliance strategy, framework and team in line with FIN-FSA expectations and business goals.
• Provide independent advice and challenge to the CEO and Board, including reporting and escalation of control improvements.
• Manage engagement with FIN-FSA and other authorities, including submissions and inspections; translate regulatory changes into action.
• Oversee AML/CTF and financial crime controls, including due diligence and sanctions.
• Advise on GDPR, customer protection, DORA and ICT risk for new products and expansion.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations and Technology to embed effective controls and strengthen compliance culture.
