Job summary

Ponsse Plc in Finland is seeking an experienced Business Controller to join the Group Business Finance team. You will partner with global functions to support financial planning, performance analysis, and decision making, turning data into actionable insights.

The role combines finance business partnering with data analytics using Anaplan and Power BI, requires strong Excel skills and fluency in Finnish and English, and offers hybrid work location in Kuopio, Tampere, or Vieremä.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or related field.
• Experience in business controlling, finance business partnering, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, management reporting, and cost controlling.
• Fluent Finnish and English with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the finance business partner for designated functions and work closely with their management teams.
• Support business leaders in financial decision‑making by providing relevant analysis, insights, and recommendations.
• Lead and coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning for the supported functions.
• Serve as a key user for Anaplan and Power BI, supporting platform usage and optimization.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, costs, investments, headcount, projects, and KPIs.
• Develop financial models, reporting solutions, and planning processes using Anaplan and Power BI.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency of data used in management reporting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve data quality, reporting processes, and performance management.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of Group Business Finance processes, tools, and ways of working.

We are looking for an experienced Business Controller to join Ponsse’s Group Business Finance team. In this role, you will be a trusted finance business partner for our global functions, supporting their management teams in financial planning, performance analysis, decision-making, and business development. You will combine strong business controlling expertise with a solid understanding of data, reporting solutions, and financial planning systems.

What you will do

• Act as the finance business partner for designated functions and work closely with their management teams.
• Support business leaders in financial decision‑making by providing relevant analysis, insights, and recommendations.
• Lead and coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning for the supported functions.
• Act as a key user for Anaplan, business planning and performance management platform, supporting its effective use and continuous development.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, costs, investments, headcount, projects, and key performance indicators.
• Develop financial models, reporting solutions, and planning processes using Anaplan and Power BI.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and transparency of financial and operational data used in management reporting.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to improve data quality, reporting processes, and performance management.
• Participate in the continuous development of Group Business Finance processes, tools, and ways of working.

What we are looking for

• A suitable university degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in business controlling, finance business partnering, or a comparable role.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, management reporting, performance analysis, and cost controlling.
• A strong data‑oriented mindset and the ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear business insights.
• Experience working in a global matrix organization and a good understanding of matrix ways of working.
• Practical experience with Power BI.
• Previous experience with Anaplan is considered an advantage.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial models and large datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, combined with attention to detail.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent communication skills in Finnish and English.
• Experience in supporting project‑based functions is considered an advantage.
