Job summary

Finnair is seeking a Business Analyst to join Intelligent Operations in Helsinki area, focused on turning data into actionable insights for airline operations. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand processes and translate needs into clear requirements and analytics solutions.

You will work with Data Engineers and Analysts, model data, and ensure data quality, privacy, and governance. Excellent English is required; Finnish is an advantage. This is an on-site role in Finland.

Qualifications

• Experience in business analysis, data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a similar role.
• A genuine interest in understanding business operations and improving them through data and analytics.
• Hands-on experience in data modelling and maintaining data models for reporting and analytics.
• Knowledge of data quality, data transformation, and modern data platforms.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Finnish is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Work with operational stakeholders to understand business processes, challenges, and decision-making needs.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements, data definitions, business rules, KPIs, and acceptance criteria for analytical and digital solutions.
• Analyze data to investigate business problems, identify patterns, and support operational decision-making.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Digital Product Owners on data modelling, technical requirements, and solution development.
• Support testing and validation of reports, dashboards, data models, and analytical solutions, including data quality and accuracy.
• Help stakeholders understand analytical findings, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure that solutions follow relevant data security, privacy, and governance requirements.

Intelligent Operations is a new organization within Finnair Digital, focused on accelerating the digital transformation of airline operations. We bring together expertise in technology, data, architecture, integrations, and operational development to build reliable digital capabilities that support operational workflows and decision-making across the airline.

In this role, you will:

From you, we wish:

• Experience in business analysis, data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a similar role.
• A genuine interest in understanding business operations and improving them through data and analytics.
• Practical experience with Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, dbt, and Git.
• Hands‑on experience in data modelling, including designing and maintaining data models for reporting and analytics.
• Good understanding of data quality, data transformation, and modern data platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and practical solutions.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams, take ownership, and drive work forward.
• Experience with agile development practices and digital product development.Knowledge of Python, airline operations, or another operationally critical environment is considered an advantage.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English is required; Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
