Job summary

Jobtailor in Helsinki, Finland seeks an experienced security engineer to lead AWS security reviews and promote secure-by-default design across products. You will work with developers to integrate secure coding from the outset and with internal teams to implement security improvements in AWS.

The role requires deep AWS expertise, hands-on coding in Python/JS/TypeScript, and the ability to perform risk assessments and participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 availability for customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or similar.
• 5+ years in product or application security and related software engineering roles.
• Experience with AWS services such as GuardDuty, CloudTrail, IAM, Security Groups, CloudFront, CloudFormation, S3, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB and RDS.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Node.js or TypeScript.
• Experience with testing practices and documentation.
• Subject matter expert in security best practices.
• Ability to quickly assess risk and prioritise value to the company.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including outside hours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct AWS security reviews to validate security best practices
• Recommend security improvements and work with production support teams to implement them in AWS
• Partner with the Lead Security Architect to fix custom-built security tool bots
• Conduct in-depth security reviews of application code
• Work closely with developers to promote secure coding from the outset and address issues early during coding and testing
• Partner with internal product teams to implement secure-by-default design
• Contribute to, operate and improve security and compliance services
• Participate in an on-call rotation to maintain system availability for customers 24/7
