Job summary

Agnico Eagle Finland Oy is seeking an Automation Engineer for the Kittilä mine to join the automation team supporting underground mine and processing plant operations. The role will tailor duties to experience, from entry-level to senior specialist, with responsibilities spanning design to system development.

We require a university degree in automation engineering or related field, practical automation design experience, knowledge of automation networks, and fluency in Finnish and English.

Job description

We are seeking for the Kittilä gold mine

Automation Engineer

We are looking for a reinforcement for the mine's automation team, which provides services to both our production departments: the underground mine and the processing plant. We are open to all experience levels, from entry-level engineers to experienced senior specialists, and we will tailor the content and responsibilities of the role according to your skills and experience.

In this role, your duties will include:

• Design, testing, and commissioning of automation systems and HMI applications, as well as the development of process control
• Circuit diagram design and documentation for field instrumentation
• Maintenance, change management, and system development of automation systems
• Availability management and monitoring of Operational Technology systems, including cybersecurity (IEC 62443)
• Maintenance and development of the process data system and ensuring data quality
• Technical support for disturbance situations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of processes and systems

The employment is permanent, and the work is day shift. The job primarily requires presence at our mine site in Kiistala.

We expect from you:

• A university degree in a relevant technical field, e.g., automation engineering
• Practical experience in automation design (instrumentation and/or application implementation)
• Knowledge or willingness to learn about automation systems and industrial network technologies (e.g., ABB 800xA, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, Modbus TCP) as well as cybersecurity awareness (IEC 62443)
• Fluent skills in Finnish and English
• Previous experience from industrial production environments is an advantage
