Job summary

Bittium's AI Office is expanding, hiring two Members of Technical Staff who will work with our Head of AI to ship AI-enabled tools in defence, public authorities and healthcare products. You will shape and own AI infrastructure, model harnesses and end-user applications.

You should be a strong full-stack engineer with expertise in language models, prompting, multi-agent orchestration, and production-grade software. Fluency in English and working Finnish are required; hybrid work in Espoo or Oulu.

Qualifications

• Master the craft of working with language models: prompting, context, agent skills, multi-agent orchestration and translating intent into working software.
• Build real software quickly with coding agents; have opinions on where agentic development is headed.
• Strong full-stack engineering: frontend, APIs, databases, auth and deployment; you take a tool from empty repo to production.
• Strong software fundamentals: architecture, data modeling, clean interfaces, testing, Linux and networking.
• An eye for opportunity: identify automations and product improvements; collaborate with non-engineers.
• Fluent English and working Finnish.

Responsibilities

• Keep us ahead: evaluate models, hardware, tools and industry directions; steer where to invest.
• Go where the work is: collaborate with legal, finance, sales, R&D or production to build AI work fast.
• Run and grow our AI infrastructure and applications: inference on GPUs and end-user apps, ship new models quickly.
• Build the AI our products run on: maintain agent harnesses, models and safeguards for battlefield conditions.
• Make models ours: post-train open-weights models that outperform general-purpose ones for our tasks.
• Make agents safe to trust: align models and enforce hard boundaries.
