Job summary

Bluefors Oy, a leader in cryogenic measurement systems, seeks a Trainee for Cryogenic and Quantum Modelling to join our Quantum and Measurement Team in Helsinki. You’ll help develop theoretical and numerical models linking thermal, mechanical, and quantum aspects of our systems during a 12-month fixed-term training.

Under experienced physicists and engineers, you’ll run simulations for customer projects, support R&D and publications, and grow in a multicultural, collaborative environment that

Qualifications

• Ongoing or recently completed studies in physics, engineering, applied mathematics, or another relevant field.
• A solid foundation in physics.
• Experience with numerical methods, especially solving PDEs.
• Programming skills in Python and experience with Git.
• Strength in heat transfer, CFD, cryogenic physics, multiphysics, or open quantum systems.
• Excellent scientific writing skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Help develop theoretical and numerical models that connect three areas: thermal modelling, mechanical/thermal integration, and quantum descriptions.
• Run simulations that support customer projects and business operations.
• Support R&D projects with modelling work.
• Contribute to scientific publications authored by Bluefors.
