About the Role

A fast-growing fintech scale-up is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to help shape the future of its financial platform. With recent backing from top-tier institutional investors and a track record of supporting thousands of businesses worldwide, the company provides fast solutions that power B2B growth.

You’ll be joining a cross-functional, globally distributed engineering team, building core financial services and infrastructure that directly impact customer experience and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

1. Building and scaling backend services using Python (Django or similar frameworks)
2. Designing and maintaining clean, well-structured REST APIs
3. Working with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL) and designing performant schemas
4. Writing clean, tested, production-ready code
5. Collaborating with product, data, and design teams to ship new features
6. Monitoring application performance and addressing reliability or security concerns
7. Participating in code reviews and architectural discussions
8. Supporting continuous improvement across the team

Qualifications

1. 3+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally with Python/Django
2. Deep knowledge of API design, microservices, and scalable systems
3. Experience with SQL databases and ORMs
4. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS
5. Comfort with Git, testing frameworks (e.g., pytest), and CI/CD workflows
6. Strong understanding of security best practices and data protection
7. Effective communication skills in English, collaborative mindset, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
8. Bonus: experience in fintech or SaaS industries
