At Boomerang, we are looking for an IP Manager to provide intellectual property support to our client, a pharmaceutical company managing new product launches and IP-related matters. The role involves reviewing the regulatory and patent landscape, identifying IP opportunities and risks, conducting IP due diligence for in-licensed products, supporting litigation strategies, preparing and reviewing oppositions, monitoring competitors’ activities, and maintaining the internal patent database and trackers.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
  1. Provide IP support to the company with new product launches and IP queries.
  2. Review regulatory and patent landscape of products and identify opportunities.
  3. Conduct the IP review of new product launches (NPL) to ensure freedom-to-operate.
  4. Conduct IP due diligence evaluations of in-licensed products.
  5. Provide support in building and implementing IP strategies.
  6. Liaise with external counsels and lawyers in litigation strategies.
  7. Drafting and filing of oppositions. Liaise with external attorneys managing oppositions.
  8. Prosecution of the client European patent applications at the European Patent Office (EPO).
  9. Monitor competitors’ launches, dossiers registrations and IP strategies.
  10. Support the maintenance of internal Patent database and trackers.
  11. Perform basic IP trainings to new employees and product-specific IP sessions to NPL and Portfolio teams.
Relevant Functional / Technical Skills or Industry Experience:
  1. Experience in a similar position in a pharmaceutical company.
  2. In-depth knowledge of European Patent Law; partially or fully Qualified European Patent Attorney.
  3. Knowledge of EU regulation on medicinal products.
  4. Advanced analytical and communication skills.
  5. Demonstrable business and commercial awareness.
  6. Experience of working independently and as a part of a team.
Relevant Professional / Educational Background:
  1. Bachelor’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or related field.
  2. In-depth knowledge of European Patent Law; partially or fully Qualified European Patent Attorney.
