Wärtsilä in Valencia, Spain, is seeking a practical, safety‑minded Workshop Technician 2 to maintain tools, machinery and equipment in our Underwater Services workshop and warehouse. You will support daily operations with close collaboration across Dive Resources, Marine and Service Delivery teams.

The role focuses on inspections, preventive maintenance, stock control and accurate SAP entries, while ensuring a safe, clean and well‑organised workspace.

Formación

  • Hands-on experience with workshop tools, machinery and maintenance activities.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to QHSE procedures.
  • Good organisational skills and clear record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and escalate when needed.
  • Spanish language required; English advantageous.

Responsabilidades

  • Carry out routine inspections, preventive maintenance, cleaning and basic repairs of workshop tools, machinery and operational equipment.
  • Prepare, test, load and unload equipment for service operations and mobilisations, and check returned equipment before storage.
  • Support the basic maintenance and preparation of diving and service equipment under supervision.
  • Receive, identify, label, store and issue tools, materials, spare parts and consumables.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and SAP entries and relevant documentation.
  • Monitor condition, inspection dates and certification status of workshop machinery, tools and lifting accessories.
  • Support purchasing, supplier coordination, deliveries, stock counts and workshop logistics.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop, warehouse and waste areas following QHSE procedures.

The position is permanent and the preferred location is Valencia, Spain.


What You Will Be Doing

We are looking for a practical, safety-conscious and well‑organised Workshop Technician 2 to support the daily operations of our Underwater Services workshop and warehouse. You will help ensure that tools, machinery, materials and operational equipment are properly maintained, documented, stored and ready for use, working closely with the Workshop & Asset Manager and the Dive Resources, Marine and Service Delivery teams.


As Workshop Technician 2, your work will focus on these responsibilities:


  • Carry out routine inspections, preventive maintenance, cleaning and basic repairs of workshop tools, machinery and operational equipment.

  • Prepare, test, load and unload equipment for service operations and mobilisations, and check returned equipment before storage.

  • Support the basic maintenance and preparation of diving and service equipment under the supervision of qualified personnel.

  • Receive, identify, label, store and issue tools, materials, spare parts and consumables.

  • Maintain accurate inventory, maintenance and equipment‑movement records, including the relevant SAP entries and documentation.

  • Monitor the condition, inspection dates and certification status of workshop machinery, tools and lifting accessories, and report or quarantine defective equipment.

  • Support purchasing, supplier coordination, deliveries, stock counts and workshop logistics.

  • Maintain safe, clean and organised workshop, warehouse and waste‑storage areas, following QHSE procedures and correct waste segregation.


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:


  • A vocational technical qualification, or equivalent practical experience, in mechanical, electrical, industrial, marine or general maintenance.

  • Hands‑on experience with workshop tools, machinery and maintenance activities.

  • Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance, equipment inspection and mechanical or electrical fault‑finding.

  • Strong safety awareness and a willingness to follow QHSE procedures and report risks or unsafe conditions.

  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to maintain clear records while managing several priorities.

  • The ability to work independently on routine tasks and to recognise when specialist repairs need to be escalated.

  • Good teamwork and communication skills. Spanish is required, and working English is considered an advantage.

  • Basic computer skills. Experience with SAP or another maintenance or inventory system is considered an advantage.


In this role, occasional travel may be required to support other Wärtsilä Underwater Services locations or operational activities. We therefore expect you to be available to travel approximately 10%.
