Job Description

About the role:

In this role as Senior Product Manager Rare Diseases, you will be responsible for supporting, coordinating, and facilitating Rare Disease (RD) projects in Spain, by adopting global/regional marketing programs and initiatives, fine-tuning them to the local market, and devising a local competitive marketing strategy to differentiate the brand, supported by impactful and innovative tactical programs. Additionally, you will gradually start preparing potential future RD commercial launches in Spain. You will support the RD BU Head in managing the organization and implement tactics in alignment with Biogen's code of conduct and the strictest ethical, compliance, and legal standards.

Location: Madrid, Spain

What you’ll do:

  1. You will act as RD Brand Team Leader, supporting the preparation of Business Reviews.
  2. Champion best practice sharing at the local affiliate. Be the contact person for the Global and Regional initiatives.
  3. You cooperate and bring a local perspective input to Global to develop the strategy.
  4. Support and coordinate country-specific projects.
  5. You transform the RD product(s) strategy into tactics through marketing campaigns, projects & materials, and cross-functional projects. Supervise and coordinate events at congresses and other meetings.
  6. Develop, maintain, and improve documents, tools, and promotional materials in collaboration with Medical and Sales, introducing, training, and motivating key account force on new promotional materials and Marketing campaigns.
  7. Local adaptation of regional/global promotional materials and digital materials.
  8. Provide marketing support to the KAM organization, feedback the needs to the rest of the organization, and take an active role in sharing best practices.
  9. Support commercial goals: You support/coordinate KAM in improving the standard of care in centers already seeing patients, identifying the networks, and developing tactics to strengthen the network between treating and referral centers.
  10. Support the development/coordinate regional events to improve time to diagnosis and time to treatment. Coordination of local commercial projects (for example, mailings, e-events, sponsorships).
  11. Allocate and manage the budget assigned to the brand. Responsibility for compliance with the allocated cost budget and ensuring optimal use of resources for the products. Manage PO coordination + budget tracking.
  12. You analyze and monitor results on activities related to the brand. Build the competitive landscape together with the Customer & Market Insights team and collaborate with Decision Support to implement market research initiatives.
  13. Maintain and build relationships with KMEs in accordance with the portfolio Stakeholder Management Plan.
  14. Preparation of future marketing and commercial RD launches.

Qualifications:

  1. Relevant university degree. Master’s degree in biotech, commercial, or marketing strongly preferred.
  2. A minimum of 7 years in a similar function in the pharmaceutical industry, including experience in the Spanish specific commercial environment.
  3. Track record of successful commercial and market access activities for biopharmaceutical products in Spain.
  4. Good understanding and experience of several commercial functions; marketing strategy, sales effectiveness, work with thought leaders, innovative commercial approaches. Deep understanding and track record of commercial success and stakeholder management, and a good understanding of commercial strategies and tools needed locally.
  5. Must have experience working in a sales and/or marketing team that was part of a multifunctional team to address patient/caregiver needs, ideally in leading cross-functional field teams.
  6. Highly preferred experience in rare diseases in a competitive environment.
  7. High degree of learning agility to learn/understand administration and neuromuscular diseases.
  8. High level of integrity and sense of business partnership.
  9. Strong drive for results.
  10. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  11. Precise and accurate working style.
  12. Strong influence/impactful negotiation skills.
  13. Excellent analytical skills.
  14. Cross-functional leadership ability and a strong collaborator with the ability to create stakeholder trust at different levels in the Health Care system.
  15. Fluent in Spanish and English.
