Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is looking for a Vice President - Capital Finance in our Boadilla del Monte office (Madrid).

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Capital Finance executes equity and alternative debt investments in energy and infrastructure assets globally, focusing on innovation and tailored solutions. The team also leads Santander Green Investment in renewable energy projects.

As Vice President, you will identify, evaluate, execute, and manage energy asset investments. You will lead transaction processes, conduct due diligence, prepare materials for committees, negotiate documentation, and develop new business activities, with direct client exposure and coordination across teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead industry and market research to support investment strategies and identify opportunities.
• Support business development and transaction strategy implementation.
• Develop investment theses and value creation strategies, and transaction ideas.
• Network to generate new investment ideas.
• Lead all transaction stages, collaborating internally and with external parties.
• Manage due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, and risk analysis.
• Negotiate and structure transactions, including documentation.
• Prepare and present investment materials to committees.
• Monitor investment performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead and develop investment team members.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work culture.
• Undertake special projects as needed.

PROFILE

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering.
• At least 8 years of investment experience, with market knowledge in M&A and Structured Finance in energy assets, especially renewable energy.
• Strong financial modeling and due diligence skills.
• Ability to analyze deal structures, valuations, and technical assumptions.
• Experience assessing transaction risks and working across geographies.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluent in English; Spanish or Italian skills are a plus.
