An established industry player is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to lead and enhance manufacturing processes. This role will focus on continuous improvement initiatives and new product development, ensuring manufacturability and efficiency. The Manufacturing Engineer II will be responsible for leading, developing, and improving manufacturing processes to increase overall effectiveness and efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization. The position will also be heavily involved in the new product development process, ensuring proper design for manufacturability and smooth transition from design to production. The engineer will work closely with Quality Assurance to investigate and resolve quality issues. Additionally, the role involves leading set-up processes and commissioning of new machines or production areas, as well as providing technical support for preventive or corrective maintenance of production equipment.

The role requires leading continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles to redesign production processes aligned with business growth initiatives. The engineer should constantly seek innovative ways to reduce manufacturing costs.
Responsibilities include creating standard operating procedures at both facilities, leading projects to review and standardize procedures across facilities, and identifying/implementing manufacturing process improvements to exceed quality, customer, and waste reduction targets.
The engineer will analyze data trends to identify opportunities for process improvements, evaluate manufacturing processes by researching best practices, and assess the feasibility of engineering changes impacting processes, methods, and tooling.
Engagement with New Product Development during the design cycle is essential to ensure design for manufacturability. Capacity analysis of production cells and the entire manufacturing plant will be conducted to evaluate resource needs.
The role involves coordinating with equipment vendors for machine specifications, supporting startup and validation of new equipment, and working directly with Quality to address quality issues through root cause analysis and process or product fixes.
The engineer acts as a technical liaison to Quality and Engineering during first article inspections of outsourced products. Research into manufacturing processes and measurement tools will be performed to assess operational effectiveness and efficiency.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3+ years in a manufacturing environment is required. Proficiency in English and advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, JMP, or similar) are necessary. Knowledge of manufacturing principles, lean methodologies, and effective communication skills are essential. The role involves working primarily in an office environment with regular exposure to manufacturing settings and adherence to safety protocols.
