Schneider Electric is seeking a Conformity Assessment Engineer (VIE) based in Molins de Rei, Spain to drive certification and standards governance for universal enclosures. You will support certification plans, monitor CE/UL/IEC/EN compliance, and act as the standards referent within UE project teams from early design phases.

• Support certification plans for product ranges and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Assist in maintaining up-to-date certifications (CE, UL, IEC, EN) including renewals and changes.
• Help identify compliance risks and gaps; translate changes into actions for teams.
• Participate as standards & certification referent in UE project teams; influence milestones and test plans.
• Support knowledge-building: maintain certification docs, prepare training materials, capture lessons learned.

Join us for an exciting VIE opportunity as a Conformity Assessment Engineer, based in Molins de Rei, Spain !

Main missions :

1. Certification & Standards Governance for Universal Enclosures

• Support the definition and follow-up of certification plans for product ranges, in line with business and regulatory requirements
• Help ensure that existing certifications (CE, UL, IEC, EN, etc.) are up to date, including renewals and changes in standards
• Assist in monitoring compliance risks and identifying potential gaps
• Provide support on certification and standards topics by helping clarify requirements and guidelines for teams

2. Normative & Regulatory Watch

• Support the analysis of changes in standards and regulations to understand their impact on existing and future products
• Help identify potential risks and impacts related to regulatory updates
• Assist in translating regulatory changes into clear actions and recommendations
• Contribute to sharing key updates and insights with relevant stakeholders

3. Project Support & Standards Referent Role

• Actively participate in UE project teams , acting as standards & certification referent from early design phases.
• Help ensure that certification requirements are taken into account in project milestones, test plans, and technical decisions
• Assist in identifying potential compliance, timing, or cost risks, and contribute to proposing suitable solutions
• Support project execution by balancing speed and quality, while maintaining compliance with certification requirements

4. Knowledge Building

• Support the management and regular update of certification documentation, including EU Declarations
• Assist in preparing and delivering training materials on certifications and standards to relevant teams
• Contribute to capturing knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices to improve certification processes
• Support the development of expertise in key areas such as electrical distribution standards (e.g., IEC 61439)

5. Stakeholder Support & Business Enablement

• Support teams (Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and project teams) with certification and compliance-related questions
• Assist in the analysis and resolution of certification cases, including interactions with certification bodies
• Help ensure that certification requirements, risks, and timelines are clearly communicated and considered in project activities

Education

A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field

Experience

1-2 years of experience in quality, compliance, standards, or regulatory topics (i nternships and apprenticeships are fully valued)

Skills and mindset

• Fluent in English and French, Spanish is a plus
• Good knowledge of CE, UL, IEC, and EN certifications, including audits, renewals, and interactions with certification bodies.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with experts when needed.
• Understanding of electrical enclosure standards and related testing and compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyze changes in standards and regulations, understand their impact, and turn them into practical actions.
• Good understanding of enclosure technologies, materials (metal and insulated), eco-design principles, and certification-related constraints.
• Intermediate digital skills, with a good command of common tools.
