A leading cancer research center in Badalona seeks a Laboratory Technician for innovative research on endothelial biology. Responsibilities include designing experiments and managing genetically engineered mouse models. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s in biomedicine. The position offers a full-time contract for 1 year with potential extension in a collaborative environment in the vibrant Barcelona area.
The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a comprehensive cancer research center dedicated to conducting research and driving innovation in the epidemiological, preventive, clinical, translational, and basic aspects of leukaemia and other hematologic malignancies, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure for these diseases. Established in 2010, the institute has experienced exponential growth since then.
The IJC is part of the network of Excellence Research Centers of Catalonia (CERCA) and was accredited as a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities in 2024. Since 2018, it has also been accredited by the Scientific Foundation of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (FCAECC). Additionally, IJC is integrated into the Institut de Recerca Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP) as an Accredited Health Research Institute (IIS) by the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII).
The main headquarters is located within the Can Ruti Biomedical Campus, alongside other leading biomedical institutions, providing access to cutting-edge scientific and technological facilities and community services. The IJC has six locations integrated into reference hospitals: Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, Hospital Clínic, Hospital Sant Pau, Hospital Josep Trueta, Hospital del Mar, and Hospital San Joan de Déu, fostering collaboration between basic and clinical researchers for translational research.
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Graupera lab.
RESEARCH DESCRIPTION
Our research focuses on the biology of the endothelium and its role in disease, aiming to develop therapeutic strategies targeting this component. Specifically, we investigate vessel growth and function in developmental and pathological contexts, such as vascular anomalies and cancer.
