Job summary

The Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (BSC-CNS) invites applications for an Urban Flow Modelling Research Engineer (RE1) in the ESS group. You will develop AI/CFD tools for microscale urban air quality and collaborate with scientists, IT developers and policy‑makers to deliver user‑oriented outputs.

The role emphasizes integrating observations and simulations to improve urban environmental forecasts. Open‑ended contract, 35h/week, with benefits including restaurant tickets and private health

Qualifications

• Master in engineering or related disciplines.
• 1–3 years experience in air quality models and AI methods.
• Experience with statistics in R and/or Python.
• Previous experience with CFD.
• UNIX/LINUX environments and GIT experience.
• Strong verbal communication and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate model results against observations.
• Develop ML/AI workflows based on in-situ observations and model outputs.
• Multidisciplinary research with scientists, IT developers, and policy-makers.
• Communicate results at conferences and publish in journals.
