Job summary

Referment is partnering with a leading pan-European trading platform to hire a Unix Application Support Engineer in Madrid. You will join a high-performance, real-time trading environment supporting critical systems across Europe and beyond.

You will maintain production and test trading platforms, with focus on application support rather than pure sysadmin tasks, and you will help expand into the US market while working late shifts 16:00–00:00 CET and a hybrid model requiring 3 days in the

Qualifications

• Expert-level Unix/Linux command line experience is essential.
• Advanced scripting skills in Bash, Python, and/or Perl with strong logic.
• Fluent written and spoken English is essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor trading platforms and respond to incidents.
• Troubleshoot, recover, and perform root cause analysis.
• Automate tasks and reporting (Bash, Python, Perl).
• Support deployments and change processes.
• Work with FIX/ITCH protocols and financial messaging.
• Analyze Unix system performance and capacity.
• Collaborate with Ops, QA, Dev, and Market Control teams.
