I am currently recruiting for a leading Syndicate seeking a Team Leader to join their Cyber Risks team on an initial 6-month FTC, with the view to extension.

This position will oversee a team of 8 within the Cyber Underwriting team based in Barcelona. The ideal candidate would have experience in a Team Lead or Supervisor role within insurance, with underwriting experience being a bonus. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

You will be responsible for managing a team of Underwriting Assistants within the Cyber department and supporting underwriting tasks.

Day Rate : up to €250 per day (inside IR35)

Office : Hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 from home)

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assign tasks across your team of Underwriting Assistants (UAs) and Technical Underwriting Assistants (TUAs).
  2. Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved and communicate resource limitations to your Operations Manager.
  3. Review, update, and communicate SLAs as needed.
  4. Maintain the team's workflow tool, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  5. Monitor team performance and address issues promptly.
  6. Lead regular team meetings to discuss capacity, training, and workflow updates.
  7. Participate in meetings as required, acting as deputy when needed.
  8. Evaluate team responsibilities to decide on in-house tasks versus outsourcing, collaborating with the Operations Manager for plans.
  9. Create and review personal development plans for team members, incorporating them into performance reviews.
  10. Identify training gaps, design training sessions, and track improvements.
  11. Act as a subject matter expert for process updates and system changes.
  12. Maintain knowledge to perform all duties of UAs and TUAs as needed.
  13. Provide management information to senior leadership.
  14. Prepare and deliver performance reports and ad hoc materials for stakeholders.
  15. Deliver professional service to brokers via various communication channels.
  16. Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients, ensuring queries are addressed promptly.
