TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Main goal : Lead the Team of Support to the Underwriters across new or existing classes of business written, whilst working as a member of the Underwriting Support team which oversees delivering accurate risk, record keeping and reporting.

• Monitor the performance of a team of Underwriting Assistants and develop a series of performance metrics.
• Assist with the professional development of the team.
• Set objectives for the team and manage their progress towards these.
• Conduct employee performance reviews for Underwriting Assistants within the team.
• Help to establish a consistent process for Underwriting Assistants and help embed this process across Underwriting Teams.
• Maintain and monitor the flow of work between underwriting teams and the service provider.
• Ensure items and issues are addressed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist the team in the performance of their tasks when needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrable team leader experience and skills.
• Sound technical knowledge of underwriting assistance.
• Sound knowledge of general, commercial insurance practices.
• Commercial awareness, with a knowledge of the insurance market and external changes which would impact business.
• Excellent numeric, analytical and written skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Effective prioritization and organizational skills.
• Languages: Professional level of English and French / German / Dutch.
