Job Summary :
To underwrite a Renewable Energy account within the Energy team and provide counsel and advice on underwriting and market issues. Provide technical expertise in this business area and maintain and improve the market reputation of the Beazley brand.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of Renewable Energy business as part of the Energy team and wider MAP Risks division.
- Structure tailor-made solutions by considering underwriting parameters and policies, using knowledge and experience to win new business and retain existing clients.
- Monitor premiums, costs, and claims ratios, taking corrective measures to ensure long-term profitability.
- Evaluate appropriate risk premiums considering risk costs, reinsurance, capital exposure, and administrative costs.
- Monitor peer underwriters and supervise assistants to ensure profitability and policy compliance.
- Comply with the Group’s minimum underwriting standards for business written through Lloyd’s or Beazley’s MGAs.
Client Management :
- Advise, assist, and service clients on insurance and risk matters to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain good relationships with clients and brokers.
General :
- Leverage networking opportunities to develop best practices.
- Share knowledge within Beazley to maximize opportunities and profitability.
- Produce presentations, marketing literature, business plans, and research documents as needed.
