As the UK Accounting Manager at Airedale, you will oversee all accounting and internal controls activities for our UK operations across three production locations. You will also actively contribute to driving operational efficiencies, supporting growth initiatives, and providing insightful financial guidance that adds value to our UK operations. As a key member of the leadership team, you will champion compliance, foster cross-functional collaboration, and ensure our financial practices support both immediate needs and long-term strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day accounting operations for the UK locations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Manage the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting that informs strategic decision-making.
• Oversee the internal controls environment and ensure compliance with Modine Financial Standard Practices (FSPs) and proactively identify opportunities to enhance financial integrity.
• Collaborate closely with the corporate accounting, finance, tax, and treasury teams to provide insightful analysis and ensure alignment with global strategies.
• Act as a trusted partner to finance and operational teams, offering financial insights that help shape business plans, investment decisions, and performance improvement initiatives under Modine’s 80 / 20 methodology.
• Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors, demonstrating leadership in compliance and reporting excellence.
• Drive accounting-related projects such as ERP upgrades and process enhancements.
• Coordinate and be fully responsible for the preparation of annual statutory financial statements under UK GAAP.

Qualifications and Attributes

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with strong technical accounting expertise.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in managerial roles overseeing teams of 5 or more.
• Proven ability to proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and add value through strategic insights.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, statutory reporting, and financial controls.
• Experience in multinational or U.S.-based companies is highly advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence stakeholders.
• SAP experience preferred, along with advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance is a plus.
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a passion for enabling business success in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
