We're looking for a Principal AI Engineer to lead the design, build, and deployment of real-world AI systems – not just prototypes or prompt-driven demos.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role within a confidential, global initiative where you'll work on advanced Generative AI, MLOps, and traditional machine learning solutions.
What you'll do
Build and deploy Generative AI systems, including custom Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
Lead machine learning projects in areas such as predictive maintenance, optimisation, and automation
Translate business needs into scalable, production-ready AI products
Mentor other engineers and contribute to the technical direction of the team
Drive best practices in MLOps, from model lifecycle management to CI/CD and monitoring
Example problems you'll tackle
Diagnosing noisy or inaccurate responses from deployed LLMs
Building predictive models from very limited or sparse historical data
Scaling GenAI pipelines with strong performance, compliance, and traceability
What we're looking for
Proven experience working with LLMs, Transformers, and Generative AI architectures
A strong track record of deploying machine learning models into production environments
Excellent Python skills and hands-on experience with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
Solid knowledge of AWS services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, and S3
Familiarity with time series analysis, anomaly detection, and mathematical optimisation
Comfortable with software engineering best practices and model delivery at scale
Bonus:
experience with modern web frameworks or cloud data platforms
