Job summary

Deoleo, the Olive Oil Company, is seeking a highly motivated Trainee Purchasing Analyst to join our Global Sourcing & Strategy team at our Madrid headquarters in Rivas-Vaciamadrid.

You will support procurement operations, help with supplier administration, and develop reporting solutions using Excel and Power BI, contributing to efficiency improvements across Spain and Italy.

Qualifications

• Exposure to Lean, Kaizen or efficiency methodologies is valued.
• Ability to balance analytical thinking with admin tasks.
• Interest in business transformation and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operational procurement activities.
• Assist supplier administration, contract data, and invoicing.
• Generate procurement reports, KPIs, and dashboards.
• Analyze procurement processes to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate on transformation projects for Spain and Italy.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean or Kaizen.
• Develop reporting solutions and data visualizations.
• Work with Procurement Managers to improve workflows.
• Prepare analyses and documentation for improvement initiatives.
• Provide support in supplier negotiations when required.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly motivated, analytical, and proactive individual to join our Global Sourcing & Strategy as a Trainee Purchasing Analyst at our headquarters in Rivas-Vaciamadrid (Madrid).

Mission

You will support the Global Sourcing & Strategy team in both operational and transformation activities, contributing to the efficient day-to-day management of procurement processes while helping drive organizational improvements across the department. This role combines administrative support, data analysis, and process optimization, playing an active part in the ongoing evolution and harmonization of Procurement activities between Spain and Italy.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operational activities of the Procurement department.
• Assist with supplier administration, documentation management, contract information, and invoicing processes.
• Generate and maintain procurement reports, KPIs, and dashboards to support business decision-making.
• Analyze procurement processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and standardize ways of working.
• Collaborate in transformation projects aimed at harmonizing Procurement practices between Spain and Italy.
• Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
• Develop reporting solutions and data visualizations using Excel, Power BI, and AI-enabled tools.
• Work closely with Procurement Managers and other stakeholders to improve workflows and operational effectiveness.
• Prepare presentations, analyses, and documentation related to departmental improvement initiatives.
• Provide support in supplier negotiations and purchasing activities when required.

You will need

• Previous academic or practical exposure to process improvement, operational excellence, Lean, Kaizen, or efficiency methodologies will be highly valued.
• Ability to combine analytical thinking with operational and administrative tasks.
• Interest in business transformation, process optimization, and organizational efficiency.
• Comfortable working in a role that balances reporting, administrative support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
