A leading company in the energy sector is seeking an Electricity Trader to manage trading, negotiate contracts, and analyze market regulations for Spain, Italy, and Portugal. The ideal candidate will have significant experience, fluency in English and Spanish, and a degree related to engineering or economics. This role is crucial for maximizing value and enabling the bankability of renewable energy projects by leveraging market opportunities.
Responsibilities : Trading with electricity futures, forwards and options. Build relationships with potential counterparties in the market, including traders, utilities and corporates – and leverage market and customer relationships held by BNZ. Identify deals opportunities according to market timing and company position. Structure and execute short-term hedges opportunities to maximize value for BNZ and enable renewables project bankability when required. Manage performance of existing hedges contracts and assess impacts on project financing contracts and cashflows. Negotiate framework agreements term sheets and contracts in coordination with revenue team members and other corporate departments. Operation through electronic trading systems and ETRMs. Identify and analyze impacts of relevant regulation on existing contracts and future options for renewables production monetization. Identify and deliver opportunities to sell and monetize environmental attributes (Guarantees of Origin). Raise company profile and maintain a strong company brand at industry events. Markets insights analysis. Fundamental drivers’ analysis and monitoring. Forward curves elaboration. Activities to be conducted essentially for the Spanish, Italian and Portuguese markets
Requirements : Minimum 5 years relevant working experience Management, Technical background, or experience acquired in a similar role Fluent English and Spanish required with Italian and / or Portuguese languages as a plus Candidates must have the right to work in Spain Candidates must be available and have the right to travel in Europe (primary) and globally (secondary) Ability to understand key business and strategic objectives of the company and integrate business, legal, and regulatory concepts to develop effective internal controls and risk management strategies Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, Mines, or Energy), Physics, Mathematics, Economics or Business Administration A strong academic background is required Interest in renewable energy and decarbonization A strategic approach with sound business judgment. Proactivity and agility to make decisions Easy to interact with other people
