At Repsol Trading, we optimize the supply and marketing of positions. Our activity includes the supply of crude oil and products for refining systems and other needs, the marketing of crude oil and products of our own production, maritime transport, and the management of product hedges in financial derivatives markets.

This is a strategic area, and we are looking to add a new member to the Heavy Products and Bunker team.

The candidate, in coordination with other team members, must support and improve analytical capabilities and market knowledge to inform trading decisions for the desk.

Functions and Responsibilities

1. Maintain and expand fundamentals market analysis: supply and demand balances, stocks, margins, infrastructure developments, etc., to identify market trends and changes.
2. Develop tools and analytical models based on internal and market data to make better decisions and predict market variables.
3. Track operations (Reuters, Vortexa, Argus / Platts, Public Media, etc.) and conduct basic market analysis: customer and competitor insights, specific refinery margins, grades and alternatives, etc.
4. Understand and follow internal operations to assist in decision-making and identify potential improvements.
5. Monitor paper positions, VAR, risk exposure, and delta maps.
6. Collaborate closely with traders to identify profitability opportunities in the mid to long term.

Requirements

• Excellent PC skills, with the ability to extract raw data and utilize it within spreadsheets and databases.
• Understanding of trading and maritime terminology will be considered positively.
• Understanding of risk management fundamentals will be considered positively.
