• 2+ años de experiencia en comercio de energía intradía en mercados CWE.
• Fuertes habilidades cuantitativas y experiencia en estrategias automatizadas.

Our client a rapidly growing proprietary energy trading company in Spain, shaping the future of energy commodities trading across Europe. Their expertise lies in the dynamic European and UK short-term power markets, specializing in intraday and day-ahead trading. With a highly analytical and strategic approach, they optimize a diverse range of generation assets, including CCGTs, offshore wind farms, pumped storage, battery storage, and reciprocating engines.

The Role

The client is looking for an experienced Senior Proprietary Intraday Power Trader to lead and expand our intraday trading activities across Central Western European (CWE) markets. This is a key role that involves developing and executing trading strategies, optimizing assets, and utilizing advanced analytical tools to strengthen their market presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute profitable intraday trading strategies across CWE power markets (additional support for Nordics / UK is welcome).
• Optimize trading decisions using market forecasts, algorithms, and real-time data analysis.
• Monitor and analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and fundamental drivers.
• Leverage quantitative skills to enhance trading performance, automation, and risk management.
• Collaborate with internal teams to refine trading models, forecasting tools, and asset optimization strategies.
• Identify and pursue new opportunities in the evolving European power markets.
• Support the development of junior traders and contribute to the growth of the trading desk.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in proprietary intraday power trading within CWE markets (Nordics & UK a plus).
• Strong understanding of European power market dynamics, grid constraints, and trading strategies.
• Quantitative skills are highly valued – proficiency in Python, VBA, or other analytical tools.
• Experience with algorithmic trading, automated strategies, and market forecasting tools.
• Ability to make quick, data-driven decisions in high-pressure trading environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to innovate and contribute to business growth.
