Position Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to provide operational support to the Compliance department. This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with the Chief AML Compliance Officer.

The role is multi-functional and requires excellent communication skills and proficiency in research, report, and policy writing. Basic knowledge of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and international sanctions, and the concept of risk assessment is a requisite, supported by demonstrated critical thinking ability.

The ideal candidate will be creative and have an interest in, if not a passion for, understanding blockchain technology and the concepts of financial inclusion and freedom. An understanding of Bitcoin and stablecoins is an advantage.

Responsibilities

1. Managing the Compliance Diary, including scheduling mandatory regulatory reporting, registrations, and meetings with the Board and Senior Management.
2. Coordinating compliance-related meetings with relevant stakeholders, including committee members, and maintaining minutes.
3. Coordinating mandatory and ongoing training requirements and drafting training materials in collaboration with compliance officers and managers.
4. Researching new product and service areas, technological compliance solutions, and country-specific laws and regulations in liaison with internal teams.
5. Monitoring regulatory websites, news, and alerts, including FATF updates and media, and maintaining a tracker of internal changes.
6. Drafting reports on important regulatory and legal updates pertinent to different countries.
7. Preparing presentations on various compliance topics.
8. Managing the Policy management system and drafting new policies and procedures.
9. Providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
10. Supporting governance practices related to policy and procedure updates.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking and proactive problem-solving abilities.
• Basic knowledge of AML, CTF, and Sanctions requirements, familiar with FATF guidelines or regional equivalents.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe products.
• Knowledge of G Suite (Google Sheets, Docs, Calendar, etc.).
• Flexibility to work across different time zones.
• Willingness to learn and adapt.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, or Turkish are advantageous.
• Location in the Central European Time Zone.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
