Tooling Manager

Profile:

  • Education: Engineering/ bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: 7- 10 years of experience in Tooling Management roles
  • Language: Advanced English

Objective:

Accountable for both preventive and corrective maintenance of dies, implementing engineering modifications, overseeing refurbishment efforts, evaluating new designs, preparing quotations for new product launches, and facilitating the commissioning of new dies. Responsible for managing the department's allocated budget. Tasked with fostering the development and performance evaluation of all team members. Ensure the safety of the team and work environments, as well as the upkeep of workshop machinery and tools. Oversee the achievement of the department's key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Planning: Schedule preventive and corrective maintenance according to annual maintenance planning and production requirements.
  • Supervision: Supervise daily tool support for production and lead team activities to meet production objectives.
  • Budget Management: Manage the tooling budget for the purchase of spare parts and die components.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports and indicators such as KPIs, budget, downtime, MTTR, MTBF, and preventive maintenance.
  • Training: Supervise, train, and instruct the team in die repairs, considering safety, maintenance, and quality methods.
  • Design Reviews: Attend design reviews related to engineering changes and new dies.
  • Engineering Changes: Implement engineering changes to dies.
  • Quality Support: Support quality improvement and maintenance of tools and matrices.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Use Lean Manufacturing tools to analyze die functionality problems and problem-solving techniques.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and organizational policies.
  • Workshop Maintenance: Keep the die workshop and machine tool areas clean, safe, and orderly.
  • Project Management: Follow up on all aspects of new programs for customers and other assigned projects to deliver quality products on time and within budget.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Maintain close relationships with interdisciplinary interdepartmental teams to achieve program objectives.
  • Team Safety: Ensure all team members work safely by maintaining areas free of risks and using appropriate PPE.
