Position Summary

The Security Analyst (m / f / d) in our Advanced Security division supports the Security Operations Center (SOC) with functions like Security Event Analysis, Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, and Security Service Delivery. This role is responsible for safeguarding customer and company data and supporting various security initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Enhance security posture for Syntax and its customers
• Manage alerts, incidents, and requests following ITIL processes (ServiceNow)
• Operate security tools (Vulnerability management, EDR, IDS / IPS, SIEM, etc.)
• Develop and run custom scripts and automations (Linux / Windows)
• Deploy and configure security tools
• Monitor, detect, hunt, and remediate threats
• Contribute to our Incident Response playbook
• Stay updated on security trends and technologies
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation

Qualifications

• Fluent in English; German is an advantage
• Strong analytical skills
• Basic security and network knowledge
• Understanding of Windows / Unix OS and TCP / IP
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ansible scripts (optional)
• Self-motivated and eager to learn
• Knowledge of security principles and at least two of the following : EDR, SIEM, IDS / IPS, Vulnerability Management, IAM, Email Security
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Understanding of adversary tactics and procedures
• 3+ years in a related field
