Testing & M&P Engineer

Mission
As a Testing & M&P Engineer, your main mission will be to assist in the qualification and acceptance testing of structural components for launch programs.
Responsibilities
- Define tests considering available inputs, requested outputs, measurements, and boundary conditions.
- Plan test campaigns.
- Manage test suppliers: contact, evaluate, select, and establish agreements.
- Execute tests and follow up on test campaigns.
- Assess externally executed tests.
- Assist in post-processing test data in collaboration with the Stress team.
- Write reports and disseminate test outcomes internally.
- Assess sensorization requirements and load conditions to meet test objectives safely.
- Collaborate in designing test benches and tooling.
- Create or improve work methodologies for current and future projects.
- Research state-of-the-art testing methodologies and sensors; propose innovative solutions.
- Occasionally travel to other PLD Space or supplier locations.
Necessary Requirements
- Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Fluency in English.
- Over 2 years’ experience in similar roles, including hardware and lab work.
- Experience with standards (ECSS, ISO, EN, ASTM, MIL, etc.).
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining safety and quality.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desired Requirements
- Knowledge of space sector, space vehicles, launchers, metallic pressure vessels, COPV, and payload structures.
- Knowledge of pressure vessel codes (BPVC, EN 13345, PD5500, AD 2000, etc.).
- Skills in electronics, optical instrumentation, and extensometric measurement.
- Experience with vibration and dynamic testing.
- Experience in analysis or design roles.
- Proficiency with Catia or NX Unigraphics.
- Basic finite element analysis knowledge.
- Programming skills (Matlab/Octave, Python).

- Developing and conducting structural test plans.
- Creating reports analyzing test results.
- Working with test benches.
