Testing & M&P Engineer
Parque Industrial de Elche (Poligono Industrial), Spain
Mission

As a Testing & M&P Engineer, your main mission will be to assist in the qualification and acceptance testing of structural components for launch programs.

Responsibilities
  1. Define tests considering available inputs, requested outputs, measurements, and boundary conditions.
  2. Plan test campaigns.
  3. Manage test suppliers: contact, evaluate, select, and establish agreements.
  4. Execute tests and follow up on test campaigns.
  5. Assess externally executed tests.
  6. Assist in post-processing test data in collaboration with the Stress team.
  7. Write reports and disseminate test outcomes internally.
  8. Assess sensorization requirements and load conditions to meet test objectives safely.
  9. Collaborate in designing test benches and tooling.
  10. Create or improve work methodologies for current and future projects.
  11. Research state-of-the-art testing methodologies and sensors; propose innovative solutions.
  12. Occasionally travel to other PLD Space or supplier locations.
Necessary Requirements
  • Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Over 2 years’ experience in similar roles, including hardware and lab work.
  • Experience with standards (ECSS, ISO, EN, ASTM, MIL, etc.).
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining safety and quality.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desired Requirements
  • Knowledge of space sector, space vehicles, launchers, metallic pressure vessels, COPV, and payload structures.
  • Knowledge of pressure vessel codes (BPVC, EN 13345, PD5500, AD 2000, etc.).
  • Skills in electronics, optical instrumentation, and extensometric measurement.
  • Experience with vibration and dynamic testing.
  • Experience in analysis or design roles.
  • Proficiency with Catia or NX Unigraphics.
  • Basic finite element analysis knowledge.
  • Programming skills (Matlab/Octave, Python).
Experience
  • Developing and conducting structural test plans.
  • Creating reports analyzing test results.
  • Working with test benches.
