Westinghouse Nuclear Spain SAU is offering a 6-month testing intern position based at our Madrid HQ. The role supports the Inspection and Testing Program, with a 25-hour workweek and hybrid work arrangement. Start date in September and potential course credit are available.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a technical degree with knowledge of materials, FEA/CFD, and programming in Python, C++, and Java, plus AutoCAD experience. English proficiency at B2 is preferred.

Formación

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Physics.
• English level at least B2; C1 valued.
• Knowledge of materials science, structural analysis, finite element codes, or CFD.
• Programming in Python, C++, and Java; experience with AutoCAD.

Responsabilidades

• Perform structural integrity assessments of components using finite element analysis (FEA).
• Apply regulatory codes and standards to develop inspection programs.
• Analyze operating experience for application in nuclear power plants.
• Conduct failure analysis to identify degradation mechanisms.
• Use predictive tools to assess wear from flow-accelerated corrosion in piping systems.
• Prepare documentation for software applications.

About The Role

As a Testing intern you will provide support to personnel within the organization in carrying out work in the Inspection and Testing Program department. This is a 25 hours per week paid internship, with a total duration of 6 months, starting in September.

You will report to the Inspection and Life Management Engineering Lead and be located at our HQ in Madrid. This is a hybrid position. You will be eligible to receive course credit.

Main Responsibilities

• Structural integrity assessments of components using finite element analysis (FEA).
• Apply regulatory codes and standards to develop inspection programs.
• Analyze operating experience for its application in nuclear power plants.
• Failure analysis of components to identify the degradation mechanisms that led to the failure.
• Use predictive tools to assess wear caused by flow-accelerated corrosion (FAC) in piping systems.
• Prepare documentation for software applications.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Physics.
• We value C1; a minimum English level is B2.
• Knowledge of materials science, structural analysis, finite element codes, or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java, and experience with AutoCAD.
