Job summary

EFI is actively seeking a Purchasing/Technical Procurement professional to bridge Engineering, Quality and Production with suppliers. The role involves following up orders, visiting supplier facilities, and coordinating recovery plans to secure on-time deliveries while evaluating quotations and selecting optimal suppliers.

Qualified candidates will read mechanical drawings, understand industrial processes, and possess strong communication.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent with strong technical background.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and documentation.
• Willingness to travel regularly.
• Internships or up to 2 years in Purchasing, Production, Quality, Engineering or Supply Chain valued.

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between Engineering, Quality, Production and Suppliers to ensure requirements are understood and met.
• Follow up supplier orders, delivery commitments and manufacturing progress.
• Visit suppliers to monitor production status and secure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate recovery plans for critical deliveries and supplier risks.
• Request, analyze and compare quotations for components and materials.
• Select suitable suppliers based on processes and complexity.
• Support purchase order management and supplier reviews.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Communicate engineering requirements to suppliers.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Production to ensure supply continuity.
• Support supplier development and cost improvement initiatives.

Main Responsibilities and tasks

• Act as the link between Engineering, Quality, Production and Suppliers, ensuring technical requirements are clearly understood and met.
• Follow up on supplier orders, delivery commitments and manufacturing progress.

• Coordinate recovery plans for critical deliveries and escalated supply risks when needed.
• Request, analyze and compare quotations for industrial components and materials.
• Select the most suitable suppliers based on manufacturing processes, technology and component complexity.
• Support purchase order management and supplier performance reviews.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Communicate engineering requirements to suppliers and support the resolution of technical queries.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Production teams to ensure project execution and supply continuity.
• Support supplier development, qualification and cost improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Organization or a related field.
• Higher Vocational Training (Ciclo formativo) in a technical discipline will also be considered.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Basic understanding of industrial manufacturing processes.
• Interest in supplier management, technical purchasing and supply chain operations.
• Good Excel and MS Office skills.
• English level B2 or above.
• Previous experience is not required; internships or up to 2 years of experience in Purchasing, Production, Quality, Engineering or Supply Chain will be valued.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
