Placements24 is seeking a skilled Agricultural Sensor Technician to join our team in Mérida, Yucatán, MX. The role focuses on deploying, calibrating, and maintaining soil, climate, and crop health sensors.

You will work with farmers and our data science team to ensure high-quality data collection and to support data-driven decisions in agriculture. The position involves fieldwork with on-site presence and some remote data analysis as needed.

Formación

• Technical degree or certification in Electronics, Telecommunications, Agriculture Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic sensors and data acquisition systems.
• Familiarity with agricultural environments and common farming practices.
• Strong understanding of data transmission protocols and wireless technologies (LoRa, cellular).
• Ability to work independently in outdoor field conditions and travel within Mérida region.

Responsabilidades

• Install, configure, and calibrate various types of agricultural sensors (soil moisture, weather stations, nutrient sensors, drone cameras).
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on sensor networks and data logging equipment.
• Conduct field visits to farms to deploy new sensor installations and collect data.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data collected by the sensor network.
• Collaborate with agronomists and data analysts to interpret sensor readings and identify issues.
• Train farmers and farm workers on sensor use and basic maintenance.
• Prepare detailed reports on sensor performance, data quality, and maintenance activities.
• Stay updated on sensor technologies and best practices in precision agriculture.
• Assist in developing new sensor deployment strategies and data collection protocols.

About the Role

Our client, a leading provider of agricultural analytics and precision farming solutions, is seeking a skilled Técnico de Sensores Agrícolas to join their team in Mérida, Yucatán, MX. • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region of Mérida, Yucatán, MX.
• Basic knowledge of data analysis and interpretation is a plus.
