Offer Description
We are looking for a proactive and well-organised Research Assistant at the University of Barcelona’s Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Lab ( ). The selected candidate will support data management, legal / ethical compliance, and project activities in the framework of the EU-funded YOUTHreach project. This multi-centre initiative focuses on youth mental health interventions across several international partner institutions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating data workflows, updating the Data Management Plan (DMP), supporting legal documentation, and assisting in setting up a federated analytics network. The role also involves contributing to internal project communications and supporting meetings and events across the consortium.

The research projects :
You will join our exposome AI team as part of ongoing projects such as YOUTHreach ( ) and HappyMums ( ), funded by the European Commission. In these projects, we are developing new trustworthy AI methods for predictive modelling of depression and cardio-metabolic disease from multi-source biomedical data (including clinical, biological, imaging and environmental data). In particular, we are interested in new AI models which, once applied in real-world practice, will be fair across population groups, generalisable across clinical sites, robust against data variations, explainable for clinical use, and respectful of data privacy. Hence, we are investigating a wide range of approaches, including transfer learning, bias correction, domain adaptation, generative modelling, uncertainty estimation, explainable AI and federated learning. Should you join our team, you will collaborate with several technical and clinical partners within Europe ( e.g. in the Netherlands, the UK, Finland, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Poland).

The successful candidate will join the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Lab ( ), which is an integral part of the University of Barcelona’s Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. It is a young and dynamic research lab, highly active in international projects, and composed of >
20 enthusiastic academics, researchers, students and research managers, with expertise in data science, machine / deep learning, biomedical informatics, biomedical ethics, and health-related applications. The research team has an established track record in coordination and participation in national, European and international projects in biomedical data science and medical AI (e.g. EuCanImage, euCanSHare, EarlyCause, LongITools, HealthyCloud, RadioVal, DataTools4Heart, Youth-GEMs, HappyMums, AIMIX, AI4HF).

Eligibility criteria
The selection is made through the evaluation of the curriculum , with an overall score of zero (0) to ten (10) points. The minimum score is five (5) points. The evaluation criteria are the following :
The tribunal, in its constitutive session, assesses the CVs of the candidates presented.
Selection process
A resolution of adjudication is issued to the person who, having passed the selection procedure, obtains the highest score and publishes the prioritised list of applicants who have passed the selection process, indicating the scores obtained, for subsequent recruitment, if necessary.

The candidate proposed for hiring must accept the job offer within 5 working days from the date of notification of the selection.
