Job summary

Julius Baer in Madrid is seeking an experienced Technical Lead – Backend Java Engineer to own and advance a Java 21/Jakarta EE backend platform running on JBoss EAP 8. You will work hands-on while mentoring engineers and shaping technical direction.

You will collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, frontend, and operations to deliver scalable REST/SOAP services, robust data models in Oracle, and reliable deployments.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Java development in Java 21 and Jakarta EE.
• Hands-on with JPA/Hibernate and Maven multi-module apps.
• Experience building REST and SOAP services (JAX-RS/JAX-WS).
• Experience with Oracle databases and SQL optimization.
• Experience with messaging (JMS) and enterprise messaging platforms.
• Testing with JUnit, Mockito, and integration tests.
• Release management and production support.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Java 21/Jakarta EE backend applications on JBoss EAP 8.
