Julius Baer in Madrid is seeking an experienced Technical Lead – Backend Java Engineer to provide technical leadership while hands-on in a large-scale Java/Jakarta EE platform on JBoss EAP 8. The role focuses on backend services, integrations, platform reliability, and release management.

Formación

• Expert-level Java development with hands-on experience in Java 21 and Jakarta EE.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and enterprise design principles.
• Experience building/consuming REST and SOAP services (JAX-RS/ JAX-WS).
• Proficiency with Oracle databases, SQL optimization and data persistence.
• Experience with JMS and enterprise messaging platforms.
• Strong testing practices using JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience with release management, deployments, and production support.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and communicate with technical/non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong mentoring, coaching, and code-review skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of Java/Jakarta EE backend apps on JBoss EAP 8.
• Design scalable, reliable software aligned with requirements.
• Drive decisions around APIs, integrations, messaging, and architecture.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Own and coordinate application releases, deployments, and production rollout activities.
• Mentor engineers through guidance, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Promote best practices, coding standards, and architectural governance.
• Lead integrations using REST, SOAP, JMS, and messaging systems.
• Work with Oracle databases for data modeling and performance tuning.
• Support frontend teams on backend integration when needed.
• Coordinate with QA, DevOps, and Operations for smooth delivery.
