With locations in Barcelona and Seattle, Anchor Point Studios is actively hiring developers, artists, designers, and more for office, hybrid, and remote roles.

The Role:

Acting as a bridge between artists and animators, you will work closely with artists, project managers, and animators for the Technical Animation team. One of the amazing things about this role is the chance to get in at a very early stage on a new game. As there is lots of scope for the game, world and team to grow further, you can use your unique skillset and abilities to have a meaningful influence on the evolving look and feel of the game.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with Art, Rigging, Animation and Engineering to create and maintain a high quality pipeline from DCC into Engine.
  • Create and document various technical animation processes.
  • Collaborate with peers in the design and implementation of animation state machines, behaviors, and runtime solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the animation engineer to implement animations in the engine, creating and managing blueprints and assets.
  • Design, create, and maintain character rigs for complex characters (biped, quadrupeds, creatures) and hard surface rigging.
  • Gather feedback from animators, making necessary adjustments and improvements to rigs for optimal performance.
  • Work independently and proactively, managing tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Scripting skills in 3D applications such as Maya and Python

About You:

  • Demonstrable AAA experience, with shipped titles under your belt.
  • Expert knowledge in DCC packages: Maya and UE4/5 needed.
  • Proven experience with Control Rig/IKRig and Animation Blueprints.Facial Rigging experience is a plus.
  • Fundamental knowledge of deformer physics and dynamics.
  • Proficient scripting/programming experience in Python. C++ is a bonus.
  • Experience in both keyframed and motion capture pipelines.
  • Experience with character optimization challenges/techniques.
