We are looking for a Backend Tech Lead to lead one of our PHP product domains and support the team in building reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions. This is a hands-on technical leadership role: you’ll write code, guide engineering practices, coach developers, and collaborate closely with Product and Engineering Management. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the technical quality and evolution of the product, aligning business goals with software delivery while fostering a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture.

What will you do at Signaturit Group?

1. Lead the backend team for your product domain, ensuring delivery of high-quality, scalable code and fostering best practices in software design and development.
2. Collaborate closely with Product Management to shape technical solutions that align with product vision and priorities, providing input on feasibility, effort, and trade-offs.
3. Translate high-level designs into actionable engineering plans and guide the team through delivery.
4. Mentor and support backend developers, promoting growth, sharing knowledge, and resolving technical blockers.
5. Drive technical decisions and contribute actively to development (primarily in PHP), maintaining hands-on involvement in critical code areas.
6. Promote engineering excellence, including CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, observability, and technical documentation.
7. Participate in hiring and onboarding to grow the team and maintain our engineering culture.
8. Partner with the Engineering Manager to improve team processes, delivery velocity, and technical quality.

What skills will make you successful?

• Strong experience in PHP & Symfony, with understanding of modern backend development (Hexagonal Architecture, DDD).
• Proven experience designing and building scalable distributed systems and microservices, using Docker, Queue systems, and REST APIs.
• Ability to lead technical discussions, define architecture proposals, and guide implementation.
• Experience working in agile teams, collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers.
• Skilled in testing strategies and building robust, testable codebases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Strong command of relational databases (MySQL) and NoSQL tools (OpenSearch, Redis).
• Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical ideas to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring or leading engineers.

Nice to have: Familiarity with observability tools, contributions to open-source, and public technical talks. Language skills: Advanced English required; French is a plus.
