Project Description: Are you passionate about making a real impact in the education sector? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

Sanoma Learning’s NPM train is looking for a BackEnd developer to join our vibrant, international team. We’re a group of enthusiastic, friendly, and talented individuals dedicated to revolutionizing primary education. As a BackEnd developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering our platform for primary education, used by tens of thousands of teachers and students. You will contribute to innovative solutions that meet the needs of educators and learners alike.

Working mode: We offer two work models: hybrid (3 days from home, 2 in the office) or remote with occasional visits to our Barcelona office. Work must be performed exclusively from Spain.

Role Responsibilities:

• Technical leadership: Guide development teams on best practices, coding standards, and architectural decisions;
• Governance: Participate in the Tech Lead Forum, facilitating communication between Architecture and DevOps teams;
• Innovation: Work on Proof-of-Concepts to assess new technologies and techniques benefiting architectural goals and customers;
• Cross-team collaboration: Work with the Architecture Office, DevOps teams, Product Management, etc.;
• Solution design: Translate architectural vision into implementation strategies, including effort estimation;
• Mentorship: Grow the maturity of DevOps teams by addressing knowledge or skill gaps;
• Knowledge sharing: Demonstrate technical thought leadership to a broader audience.

We seek a candidate with strong technical expertise, a collaborative attitude, and the ability to contribute to system improvements and team success.

Technical Skills: Develop and enhance application features using Python 3.12, FastAPI, PHP 8+, Laravel 9+, and experience with async/reactive programming. Strong knowledge in AWS infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, and databases (MongoDB, MySQL). Follow best practices in CI/CD (Bitbucket Pipelines), DevOps, and cloud-native development. Write clean, modular, well-documented code, conduct reviews, and implement testing.

Must-have Requirements: Proficiency in Python 3.12, FastAPI, PHP 8+, Laravel 9+, async/reactive programming, AWS, debugging large-scale systems, microservice architecture, relational and non-relational databases, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum experience, understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles, and fluency in Spanish and English.
