Formación

Sanoma Learning’s NPM train is looking for a BackEnd developer to join our vibrant, international team. We’re a group of enthusiastic, friendly, and talented individuals dedicated to revolutionizing primary education. As a BackEnd developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering our platform for primary education, used by tens of thousands of teachers and students. You will contribute to innovative solutions that meet the needs of educators and learners alike.

Working mode

We offer two work models: hybrid (3 days from home, 2 in the office) or remote with occasional visits to our Barcelona office. Work must be performed exclusively from Spain.

Role Responsibilities

Key tasks of a Tech Lead :

• Technical leadership: Guide development teams on best practices, coding standards, and architectural decisions;
• Governance: Participate in the Tech Lead Forum, facilitating communication between Architecture and DevOps teams;
• Innovate: Work on Proof-of-Concepts to assess new technologies, tools, and techniques beneficial to architectural goals and customer needs;
• Cross-team collaboration: Work with the Architecture Office, CLS and non-CLS DevOps teams, Product Management, etc.;
• Solution design: Translate architectural vision into implementation strategies, including effort estimation for business cases and strategic planning;
• Mentorship: Enhance DevOps team maturity by addressing knowledge or skill gaps;
• Knowledge sharing: Demonstrate technical thought leadership to a broader audience;

We seek a candidate with strong technical expertise, a collaborative attitude, and the ability to contribute to system improvements and team success.

Develop and enhance application features using Python 3.12, FastAPI, PHP 8+, Laravel 9+ for the Backend.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Service Engineers to improve system architecture, performance, and maintainability.

Optimize application performance for scalability and responsiveness.

Use Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) to deploy, manage, and monitor microservices-based applications.

Strong knowledge in AWS Infrastructure.

Work with databases such as MongoDB and MySQL for efficient data storage and retrieval.

Follow best practices in CI/CD (Bamboo, Bitbucket Pipelines), DevOps, and cloud-native development.

Write clean, modular, and well-documented code focused on reusability and maintainability.

Conduct code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and improve overall code quality.

Must-have requirements

• Proficiency in Python 3.12, FastAPI, PHP 8+, Laravel 9+, and reactive programming.
• Strong knowledge of AWS Infrastructure.
• Experience supporting large-scale live systems in production.
• Experience designing and developing microservice architectures.

Database & Storage:

• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.

DevOps & Cloud:

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines like Bitbucket.

Best Practices & Agile:

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles.

Languages: Fluency in both Spanish and English, spoken and written.
