Job summary

Astek Iberia is seeking an experienced Tech Lead to join an international pharmaceutical project focused on delivering a new digital application. You will own architecture, infrastructure, and deployment in Azure while coding directly with AI-assisted tools.

Lead end-to-end delivery, ensure quality, mentor engineers, and collaborate with global teams in a hybrid setup. English proficiency required; regulated industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, Terraform and GitHub.
• Azure application hosting experience (Azure Container Apps, managed PostgreSQL, Key Vault, Entra ID).
• Familiarity with enterprise networking and monitoring/logging.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• English – Professional working proficiency.
• Experience in regulated environments (pharmaceutical, life sciences).

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead to join an international project within the pharmaceutical sector, focused on the development and delivery of a new digital application.

The role combines hands-on software engineering, technical ownership, DevOps and project delivery, taking responsibility for the solution architecture, infrastructure and deployment within an Azure environment.

You will also work directly on the application using AI-assisted coding tools, helping transform an existing prototype into a complete, production-ready solution.

• Familiarity with enterprise networking concepts such as application gateways and private endpoints.
• Hands‑on experience using AI coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude or similar tools, to deliver production-quality software.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD pipelines and standard Git branching/release practices.
• Ability to independently plan and manage technical delivery with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Strong foundation in testing, maintainability and performance.
• Experience working within pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, life sciences or other regulated environments.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.
