Job summary

Wood Mackenzie seeks an experienced Technical Diligence expert to strengthen its Iberian Power & Renewables practice in Madrid. You will lead advisory engagements on M&A investments, combining deep technical knowledge of transmission and distribution networks with analytical, commercial, and communication skills.

You will mentor junior team members and represent WoodMac at industry events, traveling for client meetings as needed. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, or related technical field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Deep technical knowledge, including permitting phase and energy yield assessments.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to structure complex problems and build models.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills in Spanish and English, with ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and lead Technical Due Diligence projects for Iberian Power & Renewables practice.
• Produce high-quality analyses, reports and client presentations translating complex issues into actionable insights.
• Lead, mentor and support junior team members’ development.
• Represent WoodMac at industry events, client workshops, and expert panels.
